List of Monitor
Brands
There are hundreds of brand names affixed to monitors for marketing
purposes. There is no assurance that the monitor is manufactured by
the company who have their label affixed to the monitor, and in fact the
number of manufacturers using their name on the retail product is in the
minority.
Erv’s Monitor Service specialize in the repair of ALL brands of video
displays. Listed below is a small sample of the brand names in common use.

Economical
Alternatives to Replacement
All equipment will fail. When failure occurs the choice is between
repairs or replacement. Many concerns have in house "replacement spares"
, and send out the failed video display for repairs and refurbishing. Erv's
Monitor Service has refurbished thousands of video displays at our Mesa
Arizona facility over the last ten years using our high tech equipment
and have earned the respect of many Clients.
Where replacement of commercial monitors cost thousands of dollars, Our
service department may be able to repair your display for a couple of hundred
dollars, with a down time of normally 2 working days.
Component Level versus Board Level Repair
All monitors are constructed of standard components arranged on module
boards to produce the operational functions. There are literally thousands
of module boards that have a replacement cost from $50.00 to $1000.00.
When your monitor fails you can choose to replace a module board or have
the module board repaired at a fraction of it's cost. The components that
populate these module boards are low in cost ranging from a few cents to
a couple hundred dollars. The vast majority of components that fail cost
under a dollar. More technical training is required to find the failed
component than the bad module board and the service costs more for the
"labor" charges. However the large number of module boards make the inventorying
nearly impossible in order to service all makes and models and this leaves
the only alternative in component level repairs unless a large volume of
a specific models are serviced. The likelihood of obtaining the standard
individual components for repairs is substantially greater than obtaining
the module board in most all cases. This equates with less downtime for
you when we service your video display at the component level, and in all
cases is more economical to you.
Highest Quality Replacement parts
We use only the highest quality original equipment parts for replacement.
The only exception would be if the original part was unavailable or our
experience dictated a better quality eplacement. Wherever we find a history
of failure of specific components, our policy is to determine the reason
for failure and use our considerable experience in component selection
to rectify the problem. Our large volume purchase of replacement parts
enables us to procure the
highest quality parts at substantial savings over smaller shops.
Conversion to latest technologies
Equipment needs change! We have serviced many requests from customers
to modify a high quality non-used display for use on present day systems
such as with Windows 2000 platforms and have been able to find economical
means to accomplish this with the installation of special video interface
cards. We have helped a number of special industrial equipment owners to
get extra years of service by the conversion and adaptation of equipment
to fill their needs. The present trend is to replace the old worn out display
with the new thin LCD panels which even though are still quite expensive,
are a very economical answer to an expensive equipment purchase, perhaps
saving a hundred thousand dollars per update.
